Beetroot ravva utappam

Utappam is one of the most essential breakfast dishes in South India.
Generally if we prepare dosa batter ,the first day after fermentation will be the Dosa with coconut chutney
and so many other accompaniments such as sambar, ginger chutney and the list goes on..
So the next day would be either paniyaraam or utappam  as requested by the family.
But we can skip the entire soaking ,grinding and fermentation of this and prepare this utappam instantly also.
So this is a quick version and also with the goodness of beetroot added.
The colour itself makes it tempting to have a bite.
Ingredients:

Sooji /semolina fine   :  1 cup
Rice flour                    : 1/4 cup
curd                             : 1/4 cup
beetroot puree             : 2 tbsp(beetroot cooked and pureed)
ginger                          : 1 tsp (chopped for each )
green chilli                  : 1tsp  (chopped for each)
cumin seeds                 : 1tsp
salt to taste
Method:
In a bowl add ravva, rice flour, beetroot puree ,curd and cumin seeds and mix well.

Add water and mix well till the right consistency.
Let it rest for 30 minutes.
then add salt and mix well.

The batter must have soaked all the water and become a bit tight.
So adjust the consistency by adding a little more water.
Mix well.
On a dosa tawa, take a ladle full of batter and spread out evenly.

Add oil and add the ginger and green chilli pieces also.
Can add chopped onions ,grated paneer also..

When cooked on one side flip and cook the other side too.

Remove from the tawa and serve with any chutney of your choice..
