This roti is very healthy and gluten free.
Ragi flour is one of the very traditional things used very much in
andhra and karnataka households on daily basis.
The ragi jaava that many of them have in summers reduces the
body heat developed in summers.
And this particular roti can be made as breakfast or also as a snack.
And also we incorporate some fresh methi leaves also..
Ingredients:
Ragi flour : 1 cup
Rice flour : 1/2 cup
Fresh methi leaves : 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
Sesame seeds : 2 tsp
Green chili paste : 2 tsp
chana dal (soaked) : 1 tbsp
salt to taste
oil to fry
Procedure :
Take a mixing bowl and add the rai and rice flours.
Wash the methi leaves and chop them.
To it add green chili paste,salt,chana dal,cumin seeds,sesame seeds
methi leaves and mix well.
Adding water little at a time knead into chapathi like dough.
Take a flat pan and add 2 tsp of oil and spread evenly.
Now take a dumpling out of the dough and spread on the pan
evenly as thin as u can as shown.
Make holes on the roti as shown in the picture.
Add 1 tsp of oil in the holes and put on the stove .
Cover it on and let it cook .
When cooked on one side flip it carefully and cook the other side too.
Relish it with curd...
